Athens (Athens-Clarke County) - The University of Georgia attracts many newcomers to the area.  It is the largest employer in Athens and has over 30,000 students.  The population for Clarke County is 115,000 it is the smallest county in Georgia. 

Watkinsville (Oconee County) - Rapid growth over the past 10 years due to the excellent school system, strict zoning, and convenient location between Athens and Atlanta have created a great demand for Oconee County housing.  Bogart, Farmington, and Bishop are part of Oconee County. 

Winder (Barrow County) - Winder has seen tremendous growth over the past 10-12 years due to the convenient location as a bedroom community to Atlanta.  Statham and Bethlehem are small towns in the county.

Lexington, Crawford, Arnoldsville (Oglethorpe County) - This area is still very rural with larger lots with older homes and some newer neighborhoods.  These neighborhoods are mostly surrounded by farms and larger tracts of undeveloped land.
